Honey Anyone? Yes PLEASE!
This is is what I wanted to do today. All alone in the kitchen. No one watching. Just grab it and eat it. Not the normal Kaley I must admit. It’s just honey, not chocolate. But this is what I REALLY wanted. Maybe it’s because I stopped by the health food store, and the honey isle was really looking good today. Here in Florida, we have access to amazing raw honey. So I caved in and bought some, just for my cabinet right??? wink. wink. Then later tonight I pulled off the top just to get a real good smell. Total addict. Boy did that hit the spot. The smell was perfect. I almost even tasted it. Ok. Now this is when I had to PUT THE HONEY DOWN and step away. There was a siren going off on one side of my brain and the other part of my brain was saying- just take one little taste. This was close. Geez. Sugar withdrawals are not easy. I am a mess right now! I hope it gets better soon, but I have read from here and here that it can take anywhere between 5-10 days to really get past the withdrawal symptoms. One withdrawal symptom I do not have is headaches, which is great. But my worst symptoms are stemming from emotional things, which is not too great! I am just trying to keep it together.
How do I stay away from temptation? Until I become a little stronger I am getting OUT of the house w/ the boys. Today we took off and went to Honeymoon Island. My favorite beach near Tampa. It was so much fun. Nature is a great form of therapy for me. The boys love playing at the beach too, so it was a win win. This really helped my emotional and mental channels clear. Crashing waves. Bright sunshine. Lots of people. Great therapy. I think I will be making a lot of beach trips in the next ten days. So if you are doing this challenge and feeling a little anxious and overwhelmed, take time out for relaxation or quiet time. Remember your body is detoxing and getting rid of toxins, this can be very unpleasant for everyone involved.
What did I eat?
Breakfast: Glass of milk and banana
Lunch: Big smoothie: 2 bananas, 6 strawberries, 1 cup yogurt, and 1/2 cup of milk, 6 pieces of ice
Snack: plain organic potato chips, muenster cheese
Dinner: Hamburger (no bread) but w/ cheese, steamed broccoli
Snack: Avocado w/ lime cilantro dressing, organic/ non-gmo corn chips, milk
I did not have many hunger issues today. Just dealing with the emotional ups and downs. My blood sugar seems more stable….just a tad.
I can do it. I can do it. I can do it.
